You had the opportunity to taste wines from Standa Charvát at the HokusPokus Winefest 2024. At that time, we already knew that we would include Standa's wines in the offer. Your reactions at the festival only confirmed this, and we welcome the new Moravian addition to the HokusPokus shelf. Standa will arrive in Ostrava in person and present you with the current portfolio and will also take a few special pieces to the cellar.
About the Winery:
The small winery is located in the hilly area of the western spur of the Ždánický les in the village of Klobouky in the Velkopavlovice wine region. The vineyards, covering an area of approximately 1.5 ha, are spread over two vineyard lines, U Větřáku and Pod Plunary, and are 45–65 years old. Standa places maximum emphasis on the environment. That is why we do not use herbicides, systemic sprays or any artificial fertilizers in the vineyards.
The winery's production is about 8,000 bottles per year. The wines ferment spontaneously, without added selected yeasts and are made without any additives - only with a minimal SO2 content before bottling. Fermentation and subsequent aging take place in oak or acacia barrels and for some white wines in stainless steel tanks. The wines are not clarified and only a small part is coarsely filtered in some vintages before bottling.
