HokusPokus Wine Bar, Prague
Alex & Maria Koppitsch for the first time at HokusPokus Prague!
One of the most prominent producers of natural wines from the Austrian Burgenland is coming to Prague.
Weingut Koppitsch
A family winery from Neusiedl am See, where Alex and Maria continue a long tradition of farming. Since 2011, they have been fully dedicated to biodynamics and natural wines that are lively, juicy and uncompromisingly authentic.
The Koppitschs focus on the terroir around Lake Neusiedl - light sands, limestone and loess give the wines energy and purity. Typical are their juicy cuvées such as Homok, distinctive orangeades and red wines full of freshness. Philosophy? "Wine should reflect the place and be a joy to drink."
Their bottles are popular all over Europe - from natural bars in Berlin to renowned establishments in Copenhagen.
What can you expect?
The tasting will be personally guided by Alex & Maria Koppitsch. You will taste at least 8 samples, from light everyday wines to more serious pieces. You will learn more about their journey, approach to biodynamics and view of natural wine. The atmosphere will be relaxed, with room for questions and personal conversations with the winemakers.

A family winery with a 500-year history. Marie and Alexander started in 2011 when they took over the vineyards from their parents and went straight to the natural regime. (Until then, the parents had rather resold the grapes to other winemakers).
They do everything themselves. They try to involve as few machines as possible in every step of the process. They farm 6 hectares of vineyards. Alex works in the vineyard and Marie takes care of the business.
The wines are completely free of anything extra, nature itself. Very energetic, spontaneous wines. Exactly the way we like them :)
