Char is Richard's unique take on Chardonnay. The grapes come from the area around Němčičky, and instead of a sleek international style, Chardonnay takes on a much more natural and distinctive form. In the glass, expect ripe yellow fruit, apples and a delicate herbal line, complemented by fresh acidity. The wine has structure and depth, but still retains good drinkability and Richard Stávek's typical signature.

Richard Stávek's winery is one of the most prominent names on the Czech natural scene. This pioneer of authentic wine operates in the village of Němčičky in South Moravia, where he is dedicated to natural agriculture in the full sense of the word - from old vineyards, through orchards and fields to sheep farming.

His 5 hectares of vineyards produce honest natural wines without additives, often as field blends - i.e. mixtures of different varieties from one vineyard that ferment and mature together. Macerated white wines ("oranges") with a long maturation period in the bottle, which gives the wines depth, complexity and character, are also typical.

Richard Stávek's wines are not commonly available - he chooses only a narrow circle of partners. That is why you will find them more often in Michelin-starred restaurants such as La Degustation or world icons such as Noma in Copenhagen, than in classic wine shops.

Each bottle is exceptional - in terms of location, vintage and the winemaker's signature. Discover Czech natural wine that follows its own path.
