Zeroine - AlsPi 2023
France | Jura | red
AlsPi 2023 is a light, clean and energetic red Pinot Noir from the Zéro?ne project, which shows the variety in its most free, unostentatious expression. The wine is created by spontaneous fermentation in the form of a gentle "infusion" maceration without interventions such as remontage or pigeage and without added sulfur, which gives it a very natural, lively character. The aroma and taste reveal juicy griotte, strawberries and forest fruits, complemented by pink tones, light spiciness and a subtle tea-earthy undertone. The body is light, the texture velvety and the tannins very fine, more supportive than structuring. The result is a Pinot that is extremely drinkable, transparent and built on pure fruitiness and energy rather than weight or extraction.

Maylis Bernard is behind the Zeroine winery from the small village of Rotalier in the French Jura region. Ohh, wait?! Yes, it's a project of the Ganevat family! The energetic Maylis is the wife of Jean-Francois Ganevat and his flair is more than evident in the wines - although he claims that he doesn't talk to his wife about it at all. :-)
