Zeroine - JuPi 2023
France | Jura | red
JuPi 2023 is a light, transparent and extremely lively red from the Jura, which builds on the purity of expression and subtle elegance without any extra embellishments. Pinot Noir from the Zéro?ne workshop (Maylis Bernard) is vinified with minimal intervention to bring out the character of the grapes and terroir. The aroma reveals griotka, raspberries, red cherries and delicate dried rose, complemented by a light undertone of undergrowth and pure minerality. On the palate, the wine is juicy, finely structured, with smooth tannins and fresh acidity that gives it tension and a long, salivating aftertaste. Overall, it feels airy, precise and extremely drinkable — a Pinot that stands for lightness, but not emptiness.

Maylis Bernard is behind the Zeroine winery from the small village of Rotalier in the French Jura region. Ohh, wait?! Yes, it's a project of the Ganevat family! The energetic Maylis is the wife of Jean-Francois Ganevat and his flair is more than evident in the wines - although he claims that he doesn't talk to his wife about it at all. :-)
