inot Blanc from a very old vineyard, which is rich in limestone and sand. After picking, the berries were trampled by foot, then macerated in clay amphorae for several weeks, then the wine matured in large oak barrels. The aroma reveals apple and pear peel, cloves, allspice, chamomile, nettles, blood orange, walnuts. The taste is full of tones of white tea, pear, lime. The wine is creamy with a long aftertaste.

Weingut Claus Preisinger is located in the village of Gols on Lake Neusiedlersee in Burgenland. Claus originally started making wine with his father as a hobby, which grew into his life's work. His first vintage was in 2000. Since then, he has expanded his father's 3 hectares to 19 hectares. His vineyards are located on 64 plots and are largely planted with varieties typical of Burgenland - Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent. Claus also works with the Grüner Veltliner and Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) varieties.

Claus' priority is, has been and always will be to produce wine that is clean, balanced and distinctive for its terroir. His winemaking methods are guided more by instinct than by a set formula. That is why he is constantly experimenting and developing. Claus was the first Austrian winemaker to experiment with orange wines made in Georgian amphorae. Since 2014, Claus has been a member of the Pannobile association, which represents Burgenland winemakers who share the same natural vision.

Claus has been a holder of biodynamic certification since 2009. He intervenes minimally in the wine in the cellar. He adds very little sulfur to the wines - only lightly during bottling and only when necessary.

Claus was our guest in December 2019, when we celebrated the opening of our wine bar HokusPokus winebar&tapas.
