For a few years now, Katie Worobeck has been hailed as one of the brightest young talents in the Jura. Originally from Canada, Katie became interested in wine and organic farming during her studies. After several years working in wineries in her native Ontario, she moved to France and landed her dream job alongside the legendary Anne and Jean-François Ganevat.
After five years working alongside the Ganevats, Katie began taking care of the old vineyard "Les Varrons". Here she grows Chardonnay, Gamay and old hybrids. She now takes care of another three hectares of vines, planted in a picturesque location surrounded by forest high in the hills above Grusse. All the Jura varieties grow here.
The wines are aged in an old cellar under her house, where she works with great attention to detail. Her goal is to make pure wines that reflect the beauty of the terroir. The pressing is done by hand, the maturation takes place in old barrels of various sizes and any movement of the must is only by gravity.
