Fabrice Dodane | Domaine de Saint Pierre - Tout Facile 2021 | Le dos d´chat
The name of the wine reveals the style in which Fabrice Dodane made wine – Tout Facile = everything easy. Although the Clairette, Grenache Noir and Syrah varieties represent heavier varieties and come from the warm regions of southern France, the wine is very light. The aroma smells of raspberries, red currants, wild strawberries, blackberry leaves and pine cones, the wine literally smells of minerality and light acidity. The subsoil is characterized by clay and sand. A very drinkable wine!

Domaine de Saint Pierre is one of the less progressive wineries in the Jura region. The current owner, Fabrice Dodane, has been in charge of it since 1999. Since 2000, he has gradually converted all the vineyards to organic farming and currently works according to biodynamic principles. In 2011, he managed to buy the entire Domaine and became the sole owner. Since then, the quality of the wines from Domaine de Saint Pierre has been rising steeply. The friendship and collaboration with Jean-Francois Ganevat and Emmanuel Houillon is reflected in the purity and harmony of all his wines, while at the same time the wines retain their unmistakable character. All wines are produced without the use of chemicals, are not clarified, filtered and are bottled without the use of sulfur.
After three disastrous years, when Fabrice Dodane lost up to 85% of his production due to severe spring frosts and summer storms, he decided to cooperate with his neighbors from the Jura and friends from Beaujolais and the northern Rhône. He buys a small portion of the grapes from them and then produces the wines in his cellar in Mathenay. All of these wines, like the wines from the domain, are grown organically and produced without chemicals, clarification, filtration, or added sulfur.
