Sextatnt - Julien Altaber

In 2002, Julien arrived in Saint Aubin to work for Catherine and Dominique Derain. These people are extremely passionate, real "workers" who love and truly understand their profession - he immediately felt at home. He came to learn organic farming and winemaking and discovered biodynamic farming and natural wines! He worked here in all areas: vineyards, cellar, sales ...
But inevitably there came a time when one feels the need to do his own thing and at his own pace. In 2007, Dominique pushed him to buy his own Pinot noir grapes. That was the beginning of Sextant. Without any equipment of his own, he was able to use Catherine and Dominique's equipment for his first cuvées.
Little by little, he was able to equip himself and in 2010 he bought his first vineyards. In 2013, he found a winery and cellar in Saint Aubin, along with 2 other vineyards in Pommard. In 2015, he planted half a hectare of vines.

He is currently producing under his own brand and is increasingly standing for Domaine Derain.
