Red wine is made exclusively from blue grapes. The fundamental difference in the production of white and red wines is that during fermentation, red wines also undergo maceration. Maceration means that the wine ferments together with the grape skins. The wine obtains its color and other substances from the skins.
Regardless of the color of the grapes or wine, natural winemakers are primarily concerned with completely eliminating or minimizing external chemical interventions, both in the vineyard and when working with wine in the cellar.
