Domaine Majas is located in Caudiès de Fenouillèdes, a small village in the beautiful Roussillon region. The domain was founded in 1992 by Alain Carrere and his wife Agnès, who in the early years of their activity produced low-cost wines for a well-known supermarket chain. The crisis, prices and lack of earnings led the two husbands to seek help from Tom Lubbe of Domaine Matassa. Tom had one condition - if they farmed organically. Today, Domain Majas consists of 30 hectares of vines, with some centuries-old vineyards, where we find indigenous varieties such as Carignano, Grenache and Macabeu and other varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Rolle. Alain only carries out spontaneous vinification in the cellar with indigenous yeasts, using very little sulfur dioxide. The wines are aged in stainless steel and oak barrels. Pleasant, fresh and mineral wines that are a ticket to natural bombs.
