- White wine does not necessarily have to be made only from white grapes. Blue grapes can also be used. The point is that the winemaker does not work with the dyes contained in the grape skins, which are "only" pressed and there is no further contact with the skins.
- Red wine is made only from blue grapes. The basic difference in the production between white and red wines is that during fermentation, maceration also takes place in red wines. By maceration, we mean that the wines ferment together with the grape skins. The wine gets its coloring and other substances from the skins.
- Orange wine is produced technologically similarly to red wines, but only from white grapes. The fermentation process takes place together with maceration. The wine thus takes the best from the pressed must and grape skins. Orange wines do not necessarily have a deep orange color. It depends on how long the maceration on the skins takes place and many other aspects. - Rose wine Rose wine is made from blue grapes. In short - the grapes start their life as red wine, but then live the life of white wine. Only a short maceration (of hours) of the blue grapes takes place. Only a small part of the red dye is released from the skins and rosé is born.
- Sparkling wine is a chapter in itself. The explanation that it is a wine with bubbles is somewhat insufficient. Sparkling wines are made using many methods: Méthode Champenoise, Méthode traditionnelle, Méthode Charmate, Méthode ancestrale and others.
